We were climbing near Bend on Sunday—my husband, John, and our 3 daughters, Coco, Alice and Lili. Alice, who is 7, had forgotten her rock shoes. She REALLY wanted to climb, and was quite upset. “Climb in your sneakers,” I told her. “I CAN’T climb without Stealth!” said Alice, quite loudly as is her nature. “But you do have Stealth on your sneakers,” John was quick to point out. (Alice was wearing a pair of Freeriders.) Alice tied into the rope and waltzed up a 5.9. Stealth saved the day again.
