yo Yo YO! Whad-up?!? So last week I did a series of demos at the Planet Granite gyms in the Bay area, starting with the Balmont gym on Monday, the Sunnyvale gym on Wednesday and finishing up with the SF location Thursday night. All in all, it was a sucess... I think. I was able to introduce a few people to a few new pairs of shoes and get a few people psyched on the new releases.
Out of all the new shoes I had on the table, the ones that probably got the most attention were the Rouges. People seemed to like the way they fit, the easy access of the velcro straps and the stiff midsole under the onyx rubber. The Rock Wrench and the Gambit didn't get quite as much play as I would have liked, but did get some. As always, I wished I could have just demoed my favorite shoes- the mocs, 5x's, Jets, Dragons and the Velcro Anasazi and/or the Galileo, but it was probably good to get the shoes that aren't doing as well and the ones that people don't know about out there and into people's consciousness. After two rounds of demos, first at the T-stone gyms and now at the PG gyms, I have to say that I'm getting a little better at the whole deal... giving the shpeel about the shoes, price quotes, getting people to approach the table.. but I can see how someone who had to do this all the time could get bunt out on it, real quick! Can't wait to team up with sensei Kassle, master demoer, to learn from the best! We'll try to promote the next round of demos further ahead of time so people can emerge from their caves to come enjoy the festivities and get psyched on some dope climbing rubber!
