"Best of 09 for me, climbing has been a part of my life of a long time and this year for me was great. I may not have the most impressive tick list out there but we sure had a good time. Most of the year was spent training for the Jr. National Championship in Utah. Unfortunately I was DQ on the second day for clipping out of sequence! It was really dumb on my part I did not even see the first clip and the second one was only like 10 feet off the ground. The day after that I was bouldering in Little Cotton Wood and suavely strained my shoulder and had to take 2 months off. Even though all of those things sound bad all of those things helped me as a climber. It showed me that maintaining my body is the most important thing I can do to extend my climbing life. After my injury, I got p$yched and drove to Ten Sleep, WY and sent my first 14b and a 14a second go. I also put up this boulder problem in Poudre Canyon I call Monkey Foot it took me a few weeks of work, I have to say it is my proudest first ascent yet." -Ian Dory
