Rocco Bocchicchio - "Thats So 2009"
"For me, 2009 has been a year of fleeting moments. I began the year with a trip to Hueco Tanks, accompanied by my new fiancée. I saw the dawn of my second year living in Salt Lake City come and go, conquered the arduous goal of starting my own company, said goodbye to friends and hello to new ones, became a Hueco guide, found a new passion in Kung Fu, planned and executed a wedding, and spent an awful lot of my time combing my local climbing area (Joe’s Valley) for new lines. Having done so much, and even with everything filling in between the big stuff, 2009 still seems like a dream. Maybe it’s because I was so busy for so much of the year that the time flew by. Here I sit, 9 minutes ‘til midnight on the eve of 2010, a married entrepreneur with 52 first ascents to my credit in the past 12 months in Joe’s Valley, answering “Happy New Year” texts and emails from my friends all around the country. Tomorrow I begin packing for my annual trip to Hueco to spend my first season as a guide. Here’s to another busy year ..." Rocco My groomsmen and I in our 5.Tennies and Tux's.
