Summer! Classes just finished. They were certainly challenging, but I am really glad I chose the ones I did because I learned a huge amount, especially about aircraft propulsion as well as the biomechanics of flight. With the beginning of summer, I have started working with a Stanford graduate student on research, which has been great so far.
May/June 2014: Summer in the Bay Area - Will Roderick
In terms of climbing, I was recently in the news! The Peninsula Press released The ascent of competitive speed climber Will Roderick. There was also a large section on the Stanford Climbing Team, which, with the end of spring quarter, has been just as strong as ever; motivation is high and that inspires improvement. I think it is great to be spreading my excitement about the sport and about the Stanford team.
For the next few weeks, I am climbing mostly in the gym around the bay area. There have been a few local competitions, and I’ve been doing my best to get lots of climbing in at the various gyms around the bay area – it has been cool to reconnect with my other bay area climbing buddies. And I hope to get outdoors and climb during the weekend at some point soon.
