Off season is officially here. Though it's a bummer to wait another 4 months or so before REAL riding starts again, the ski season provides balance, and gives me a break from a long bike season. Riding a bike in the snow and ice may be good for your bike handling skills, but skiing is better for your riding than you would think.
It's hard to get really good riding here in Colorado year-round, especially when we have good snow years. The best DH quality trails we have are about an hour and a half from away, and it's hard to get my parents motivated to shuttle me:) As much as I would like to spend my off-season riding there, skiing seems to be good for me, as it gives me something new to do. My life pretty much does revolve around riding, but mixing it up never hurts.
Around March is when I will be getting back on the big bike, and finally riding DH-worthy trails. That's only a short 4 months away, but it seems much longer than that to me! Can't wait to get back on the trails!
I'd like to thank my parents and my sponsors for the support they have given me over the past couple of years, and cheers to a great season!
Picture: My dog also likes Five Ten Dirtbag's, and he seemed to want to keep one for himself.
