Been in Colorado for 3 weeks now. Haven't climbed in the gym one time, been hiking 8 miles round trip almost everyday to UPPER UPPER CHAOS CANYON. Been Having a blast climbing on the huge roofs there, and finding new boulders!!!
The last few weeks I have been hiking ALOT. The crew has gotten addicted to the boulders in Upper Upper. There are just so many cool lines that have gone up in the last few years, but also just so many boulders that are waiting to be put up. You are completed surrounded by massive boulders. I'm pretty new to finding my own boulders and cleaning them up, but its one of the most satisfying things i've done with climbing. Putting up your own line is just so much more fun than repeating a line that maybe hundreds of people have done.
Other than that I just signed a lease for the first time in my life, I'm living in Longmont with fellow 5.10 athletes Jimmy Webb and Kasia Pietras. Living away from the traffic in boulder is really nice, I much prefer the outskirts. If I am going to have to deal with mass amounts of congestion, Id rather live in a real city... not just an over populated suburb.
I am going to be spending most of my time in Colorado for the next year and thats really exciting! CLIMBING OUTSIDE EVERY DAY! :))))))))))))))
Until next time,
