Because of the intensive strength training I became mentally stronger and I managed to keep going. Climbing the Super Trail was two years a goal. The achievement is fun. Valuable is what I have learned and new experiences. I learned to use training / nutrition / mental and recovery. The four pillars of FGC By each pillar to give equal attention and take action toward my goals with passion I became mentally better.
In 2011 I was climbing for half a year again after absents of 10 years. After subscribing to BLOCK magazine, I won a topo of Fontaine Bleau. In the topo was Super Trail de la Montagne: 208 Orange AD + / D boulders! I practiced that summer by 5 days, each day to climb 2 yellow trails.
In 2012 I came back to Fontaine Bleau and climbed all 208 boulders separately. Sought the way out, made the blocks clean and ran the entire course at once. In September I returned to climb the trail in one day, I came to No. 125 and had to give up. The climbing you do without crashpad and no spotter. Climbing and not fall. That mindset I could not hold on to after No. 125.
On 4 October, I started training to achieve two goals in 2013: 7b on sight climbing and climbing the Super Trail in F.Bleau.
Below are the number of hours for training in 2012/2013 divided strength / fitness training and climbing.
Training sessions (No.) 176
Duration (hh: mm) 213:19
Calories (kcal) 140 841
Last Monday, August 19th I climbed the Super Trail! Tnx too Ivo Ninov (Five Ten Europe): I climbed the trail on the Tennies you gave to me this spring!!! This time I did the trail, with my dear wife Leonoor as coach and caregiver, climbed in 8 hours and 11 minutes. On the way enough to eat and drink: 6.5 liters of water, 1 liter oatmeal / muesli, 8 Chimpanzee bars, and a banana nut bread. Registration by Polar FT80 training computer.
Through intensive strength training I became mentally stronger and I managed to keep going. Climbing the Super Trail was two years a goal. The achievement is fun. Valuable is what I have learned and all the new experiences. I learned to use the four pillars of OWN POWER: training / nutrition / mental and recovery. By each pillar to give equal attention and take action toward my goals with passion I became mentally stronger!
Set a goal so big That You Can Achieve it until you grow into the person who can! I am a person other than in 2011. It is now almost September and time to start training again. Differently than I did, so I can maby achieve my other goal this year: 7b onsight climbing. The main resource that I have learned to use this year, asking for help from friends and people who are experts.
Thanks, www.goodclimbing.nl Leonoor, Hans & Joyce, Max, and Bryan Frank
