Trestle Gravity Series #1 - Armen Davis

Trestle Gravity Series #1 - Armen Davis

After the Mountain States Cup had its last season in 2012, people thought this year would offer few races in the Rocky Mountains.  Everyone is super stoked that an awesome resort like Winter Park could pull together a sanctioned race series, including the Colorado State Championships!  Together with the Chile Challenge Pro GRT, the Freeride Festival at Winter Park (as part of the World Enduro Series) and the National Gravity Championships at Angel Fire, NM, racers now have a busy season.

The first round of the Winter Park Trestle Gravity Series started June 22/23.  The field brought great riders to step up the competition.  The format of the two races made your run into just another fun session with your buddies!  The first course was an air downhill, with enough flat sections and dozens of jumps to make your legs burn by the finish.  But, the fun of scrubbing the massive jumps left a smile on your face.  Sunday’s downhill race was super fast, with some steep and technical sections.  You had to be “fast-n-loose” to feel confident on that track.  Overall, Trestle Bike Park put together a nice mix of terrain for the racers, and made this one of the best weekends of racing I’ve experienced!
