It’s been a great start to my summer here in Wyoming. I have been climbing in Sinks Canyon, primarily in Killer Cave since November. I have finally gained some fitness and finished off a couple projects and now it is time for a change of scenery.
A few weeks ago we got to make a trip down to Clear Creek Canyon with my friend Fritz. It was calling for temps to be in the 90s, but ended up chasing shade all day, got a few climbs in and not that crowded. There is a lot I would like to do there. Will return shortly.
I also finally made it back to Maple Canyon after almost exactly 12 years after my first and only trip there. It was great to be back! It was way better and so much more than I remembered. It was kinda nice to have “some fitness” from climbing in Sinks Canyon all winter to get me up the steep juggy routes of Maple. We went straight to the short bouldery wall of the Pipeline to get a taste. Everyone had something to do there, so we returned everyday. My friend Cody and I tried Captain Bullet lower in the canyon, it almost overhangs the road. We figured out the moves (sans kneebar), but was too tired to finish it off. It was a great trip and I am planning on returning tomorrow to finish some things off.
Thanks Hannah, Cody, Beth, and Jason for the great trip!
