Checking in from the road! I had the pleasure to take the FiveTen adventure mobile on the road for a few weeks on a massive BASE jumping safari through the western United States. Starting in Seattle, fellow BASE jumper and badass Braden Dean and I moved into our temporary home (a sick Mercedes Sprinter vans all FiveTen'ed up) and started driving down the coast. First stop, Lodi California for some skydiving.
Skydiving is a crucial part of BASE jumping and is a really great opportunity to get current and practice wingsuit flying. The dropzone in Lodi is a great place to jump because of the laid back atmosphere, cheap jump tickets, and greasy Mexican food nearby. Also, Asylum designs- the company that builds all my BASE jumping gear for me- is based out of Auburn so I got a chance to visit the shop and hang with Martin Tilley, the owner/legend... This is where parachutes are born!
After a solid 5 days of jumping, packing, jumping, wingsuiting through puffy clouds, laughing while falling with my friends, and tons of high fives we are on the road again- putting away our skydive rigs and pulling out some good fun single-parachute systems... aka BASE jumping rigs.
And the adventure continues!!! :)
