ABS in Colorado springs this year was a great comp. I competed in the open competition along with 75 other competitors. On the day of qualifiers there were 5 climbs, I ended up completing 3 out of the five which put me into 19th place and a spot in semi finals. The first climb in semis was a tricky slab, I got to the last holds but I kept slipping up. The second climb was a stemming climb in a corner with big features and all you had to do was start turned around! But I never figured that out, so I didn't do so well on the second climb. The third was probably the hardest, it started on some OK bubble wrap holds into some crazy hard big moves and I just got about four holds in. The fourth climb was a pretty cool feature climb with a tough ending I made it up maybe halfway on the feature before I was exhausted from doing the hard previous climbs. I ended up placing 20th which is at least better than I did at my last open ABS. I had a good time and enjoyed the climbing. I'm now training for rope climbing and excited to get my enurdo up! This rope season will be awesome because I plan to be at several pro rope competitions.
