My Zero Gravity buddies and I took a couple of trips to Bishop over the last month. On Presidents Weekend, we camped at a place called Pleasant Valley Campgrounds, because the Pit was full. Luckily, it was much warmer than the time before when we camped and climbed in the snow. We found some really fun problems to climb, mostly in the Sads.
We started in the Happys where I finally got Son of Claudius Rufus (V5). It's a fun traverse with a mantel finish. Most climbers prefer the Happys or the Buttermilks, but my favorite spot is the Sads. At the Sads, I got Chefs Arête (V5) near the entrance to the ice cave and Erotic Terrorist (V6). Erotic Terrorist has some tricky moves and is a fun climb. I also got the unnamed V6 near Mr. Frosty. I thought it was the unnamed V7 and I was bummed when I realized I climbed the wrong problem. I was too tired to do the V7, but came back the next day and sent it.
My hardest project was Mr. Mackey (V7). I had trouble controlling my swing and kept dabbing the wall behind me. I topped the problem but had to go back the next day and do it without dabbing. The final move is a hard mantle onto a slab with only micro-crimps to grab.
