Take a look into a day in the life of Dante and I (Jacqueline Harmony), Five Ten Athletes. Wherever we are and whatever we do Five Ten shoes are always on our feet. This is what our shoes experienced.
Our day started out nice and relaxing with a delicious breakfast at Essence Bakery in Tempe Arizona, where we met a nice young man who became very interested in Dante's and my life story. After breakfast Dante, Carter and I headed out for a nice, cold, morning ride. In all the hustle and bustle of a big city, you can get away from it all very quickly at South Mountain. We rode the Bahada trail and the Alta trail with some great scenic views and amazing landscape. When we got back to one of, our all time, best friend's place we found out he had won his soccer game, 2 to 1. I hear Gabe is quite the goalie and that day was able to fend off the ball quite a few times.
Dante's Aunt Quinta, Felicia and Cousins Tristan and Dylan picked us up and headed off to the Super Cross. So exciting, I love watching all those super fast guys pinning it on their dirt bikes. I secretly want to be one of those fast Supercross racers and I guess it is not that much of a secret now. We hung out with some pre race partiers and played some corn hole to pass the time. Dante, Tristan and I headed into the pits after a while and spent probably 15 minutes in there before we decided it was time to eat. There were a lot of interesting things along the way, R/C cars, many race rigs with Specialized training bikes (Carbon), we even attempted to pull a truck to win a dirt bike. None of us could beat the record, oh well.
It was time to meet up for dinner at Cooperstown. An hour wait and we were finally seated eating some pretty tasty food. Quinta and Felicia thought it was a good idea to order a 22” polish dog with everything on it, they could barely finish it. Once dinner was done we hurried to Chase Field to watch some racing. The heat racing was all crashes, guys were flying in to the lips of jumps and over hay bails out of turns. It was amazing to watch and we all felt bad for a couple of guys that had to get carted off. Once the last chance qualifiers were over we started placing bets on who would win the 250 main and the 450 main. In the 250 class it was Eli Tomac who came out on top. In the 450 class Justin Barcia stole the show by being out in the lead pretty much the whole race. After getting through the stampede of people leaving the Supercross, Dante and I were dropped off at Gabe's house to get a good nights rest for our next adventurous day.
