Quite some time since my last update here, which I apologize for. But better late than never, right!?
I spent the summer training for the competitions in the fall, but I still participated in some comps during the summer to gain more experience. All in all I had a great season, considering the fact that my training during the winter and spring was not at all like I planned because of the injury. Instead of working on my weaknesses, get stronger and become a better climber, I had to start from scratch with many months of easy and medium climbing. Which also lowered my expectations of the competitions this year, and I have to admit that it went a lot better than expected.
In total I participated in about 25 different competitions and travelled for more than 140 days including some rock-climbing trips. In addition to this I am also in my last year at high school, which means I have A LOT to do at school as well. But I managed to combine it all and finished a good competition season with a victory in the European overall ranking, 1st in the junior world ranking, three 1st places in individual European youth cups, one 2nd and one 3rd, 4th in the European youth championship and 7th in the world youth championship, all in lead. I am also the nordic and national champion in both lead and boulder. I decided to focus on the international youth comps this year, and do some world cups for fun. But I am very excited to try more world cups next year!
Now that I have no injuries to worry about, I can train hard and prepare for next year!
