Competition came to an end in the speed world cup 2012 series. Five Ten athlete Edyta Ropek after last event in Mokpo was classified at fourth position in WC ranking. She is the best non Russian athlete throughout the all cycle. This was also for her breaking through season, as she managed to climb in 8,90 second during WCh in Paris – it’s her personal best, and one off the countless results in the world.

After an extremely challenging competition season Edyta still remains at the forefront of the best speed athletes of the world. This time general classification was dominated by Russians, led by the winner Alina Gaydamakina, than Yulia Levochkina and Maria Krasavina. After, at forth position was classified Edyta.

The final edition, which took place in the South Korean city of Mokpo had an unlucky run for her. Despite a very good time in the qualifying round, and reaching the final at third position, in the quarter finals Edyta went to her rival from Xining, the new world record holder French Esther Bruckner. Unlucky slip during the run, cost her a waste of time. With 9,37 seconds wins French, Edyta was classified at 7 position with 10,12 seconds.

“It was a very difficult season. The level of speed climbing from year to year increases. I’m glad that after so many years of starts I still keep at the forefront. My this year’s goal was to prepare for the World Championships, and I did it, which confirms my new record 8,90 s. Now I have new goals and I want to be better prepared for next year. After four years I’m still the current European champion, in 2013 championships I want to show from my best side.” – said Edyta after competition.

After short holidays, from 14-th of November Edyta starts new preparations and trainings to next competition season. In December she will begin endurance trainings in Polish Tatra Mountains.
