Out of all the competitions this season, I must say that the setting for this year's PBR earned top points for creativity and interesting vagueness. I was a little nervous after our preview since it wasn't the difficulty of the problem that was intimidating; it was figuring out how to even climb it! We weren't familiar with the sweet spots on many giant volumes that dominated the walls and there were random holds we may or may not have needed; we truly forged into the unknown!
Once I was on the problems however, everything more or less fell into place. The problems were pretty intuitive, and the roar of the crowd really helped me up the wall! Portland truly rallied for the Boulder Rally as this was the loudest and most motivated bunch of spectators I've seen in awhile. Huge props to the enthusiasm, as well as the effort that clearly went into the making of PBR. I'm definitely marking this on my calendar for next year! I had SO MUCH fun!!
My next event will take place in Boulder for Psychedelia at the Spot, which is always a great time. I'm still thinking of ideas for costumes, maybe some crazy body paint? Who knows! Stay tuned and as always, stay PSYCHED!
