The last stop on the Pro GRT landed at Northstar Mountain in Tahoe California.  Northstar dirt is notorious for being dry and having tons of poof.  The whole weekend was pretty quiet, due to the overlapping of quite a few races in different areas of the States, however all the best people showed up for this race and that is all that matters.  There was one mishap this weekend and we are all wishing a speedy recovery to Junior Alex Willie, who was airlifted to Reno after a pretty bad crash on Saturday.

Coming into this race I was leading the Pro GRT points and on the mens side Logan Binggeli was 10 points out from the lead.  There were some fast guys and gals at this race and we both knew what we needed to do to take the overall.  After all the amateur classes raced their way down the course, the pros were ready to take on the course that was now much more worn in and potentially different from the early morning practice.  In the pro women’s class there were a few crashes and a few clean runs.  I was able to clench one of those clean runs to take the win and secure my overall lead.  In the men’s class Kevin Aiello & Logan Binggeli of KHS battled it out for first & second.  Kevin would come out on top this time, however with Logan’s second he would take the overall lead in this series.  My wonderful husband had an awesome time riding and racing at Northstar, he felt super quick and had a clean run.  His run put him in a respectable 17th place.

Overall Dante and I had a great time competing in the Pro GRT series and believe that there was some effort put into making a Downhill series more prominent in the US.  Thanks to all our awesome family and friends for all the great support and fun riding on all our journeys.  A super thanks goes out to aCOS, Ecosphere, Five Ten, Smith Optics, MRP, Deity Components, Crankbrothers and all of the other sponsors for helping us throughout the season.
