In my last blog I wrote I couldn't wait to go to Grand Capuccin. Well with Nico we did a beginners mistake. Since everybody was talking about the really nice weather in the coming days, we forgot to take a closer look at the weather forecast. We miss saw that they announced a strong NE wind in the altitude. So we just did a really long hike over the glacier. From Aiguille du Midi to Grand Capuccin and back, always hoping for a miracle to happen – for the wind to stop. It was freezing cold! Finally we did a route on the small cliff under the Cosmiques hut, La fissure Laroux 7a. It’s a really nice thin hand crack! The hike back up on Aiguille du midi was “too much” after the day walking. I was exhausted, since I am not really used to such altitude. But maybe those “altitude efforts” made me feel Le mur jaune 8b in Cascade de Doran easier. I did it next day and with less efforts then walking up the snowy arête of the Aiguille du Midi:-)

Yesterday we were in Foron with Nico. The climbing style there is not common to the Haute Savoie region - it’s really really steep! Your neck hurts while climbing! I was happy to do À maman ça 7c+/8a and to flash Mass thick 7c. Nico did a scary 8a, Luge a foin – the bolt are badly placed and you have a dyno move with a risk to fall to the ground. You need a good (and heavy) belayer!

Well I don't have photos from the Mur jaune, so I am adding some Tommy's photos again. He's such a funny boy!
