Today I had the great pleasure of sending my hardest sport route to date! The climb is called Surf Safari. It is located on the California Coast just outside of Stinson Beach Park. It is rated 13d and it took me only about 4 sessions of work! I am extremely psyched to be climbing sport right now because i have something to train for and keep me going- The Sport Climbing World Cup in Atlanta, Ga. Doing well in this upcoming competition is my ultimate goal. However, working on, and sending, difficult sport routes outdoors like Surf Safari, is another way for me to train and stay motivated!
I think it is funny how I have spent hardly any time sport climbing outside. I am truly a Boulderer at heart, but when my motivations kicks in for the clipping of draws, and the 40min on the wall at a time gym endurance training, i seem to get in shape really quick. Anyway, This climb was just the beginning of my sport climbing adventures. I plan on making more trips out to Mickey's Beach Ca. Along with trying to make it out to Jailhouse in Sonora Ca.
