The 2012 Vail World Cup experience was amazing! When one thinks of Vail they might think of skiing and fur coat shops, when I think of Vail I think of rad competitive climbing and expensive pasta. Last year the wall was at a prime location near the center of the village and at the foot of the mountain, (Mt. unknown) and this year it was near the end of the village next to a soccer field….not ideal for spectating but it all worked out perfect in the end. Good job to all the setters, USA Climbing and comp coordinators for putting on a great event and show!

My 1st time at a US World cup was last year in 2011 and let’s just say that was my learning year; I didn’t have any expectations and it showed….haha! I gave myself a goal for the 2012 WC to make semifinals (top 20) and a training plan to get me there. I worked hard throughout the year and placed 13th at ABS Nationals which gave me much confidence for this year’s Vail WC.  I made semifinals in 20th place and came out of semifinals also in 20th. Whatever! I’m psyched I reached my goal and I am looking forward to top 10 next year! Check out my short video from the weekend of my sends and falls! Thanks 5.10!

Peace!
