The whirlwind of life continues....
After a fleeting visit to the home land (NZ) I am back in the US. Unfortunately the trip over turned into a complete epic 48 hours of travel. My first flight out of Christchurch was only airborne for 10min, before landing back again because of engine problems. The result was mayhem! Far too many planes, airports and flight changes. However, eventually I made it to Boston airport and even managed to climb at Rumney for a couple hours that evening!
I had a few great days at Rumney, sampling the different crags in sweltering heat, before heading over to Conway for the EMS Clinic. Though still very jet lagged, I had a good couple of days chilling with the 5.10 crew and passing on some tips to many keen EMS employees! Once again it was wet but this did not stop us getting out onto the Cathedral on our second day and sampling some of the 5.10 shoes. Many thanks to 5.10 and EMS for making this event happen!
Now, I am down at the Gunks hoping to get out on some rock - though right now the clouds are so low that I cannot even see any cliffs, and the humidity is well over 100%. Aside from the weather it has been a lot of fun meeting the locals here and seeing the beautiful east coast in its spring time splendor!
If you are in the area, please come join me at the Rock and Ice Store in New Paltz tomorrow evening. Where I am presenting a slideshow about my recent free ascent of the Salathe Wall and a small taste of NZ climbing.
