In the past year there has been an explosion of climbing gyms in the Seattle area. Last Spring the Seattle Bouldering Project (SBP) opened, claiming to be the largest bouldering gym in the World. SBP also has an exclusive Five Ten shore store with all the models you could ever want. Then in the fall Stone Gardens Bellevue opened with a shiny new mall setting to boast. And now I am very proud to say Vertical World has opened its fourth version of the Seattle location. We are calling it Seattle 4.0 and it is bigger and better than anything we have every produced.

Seattle is home to North Americas first climbing gyms for a reason. The weather is not exactly prime for year round climbing. This leaves avid climbers with a great need for indoor climbing. With seven climbing gyms in the greater Seattle area, there is no lack of simulated rock scaling.

I have been a part of Vertical World for a very long time, and words can’t really describe how excited I am about this new facility. So if you are ever in the Seattle area and are looking for a climbing fix, you have plenty of options. Try them all, but most of all, come say hi to me at Vertical World!
