Colorado Bound - Sasha DiGiulian

February 23, 2012 -  Sasha DiGiulian

Guess what? I am… back on the plane! You know that you’re a frequent flyer when you have each airplane’s complimentary magazine dialed from front to back and then back to front, and have completed all of the Sudoku and Crossword Puzzles included in them. Yup, done that! Currently I am flying from Washington DC to Denver, Colorado to compete in the American Bouldering Series (ABS) Championships. The competition will be held in Colorado Springs and it will be my first competition of the year. With American Bouldering Competitions I never really know what to expect because sometimes the boulder problems can be suitable to my style, which generally means crimpers and/or technical, and other times I find them really challenging… dynamic movements and pinches are my weakness! In my opinion, the best-case scenario for competition setting is a fair variety of all “styles” so that the most versatile, well-rounded competitor that day does the best. Both the Women and Men’s fields are stacked so I look forward to trying hard, putting forth my best effort, and having fun. Hopefully I can have some luck, too =]

Leading up to this, I have been anxiously awaiting my Outdoor Sport Climbing trip to the Cataluña region of Spain. I will be leaving Monday with Keith Ladzinski, Andy Mann, and Ben Spannuth. More to come about this trip in the next few days… Stay posted!!!
