Amazing climbing weather at Smith Rock
This winter we have had one of the best winters for climbing I have ever seen. Today temps should be 57 and sunny. Of the last 45 days we will have had 41 days above average. We had some rain last week, but we have jumped right back to warm sunny conditions. People are out climbing on a daily basis. Our ten day forecast looks to continue this trend.
Last winter we had about a 6 week trend of this in January and early February, which we dubbed Jun-uary.
As an added bonus we have had a pair Bald Eagles hanging out at Smith Rock. Last year they built a nest in a giant Ponderosa Pine, but did not lay eggs. They have returned this year and we are hoping they have baby birdies. The Golden Eagles have also returned and will hopefully nest again in the Monument area.
