Whitewater Kayaker by morning, Mountain Biker by afternoon. In the winter months when the rivers are frozen over or its just too cold to paddle, I find myself spending a little more time on my bike.
That was the case today... thirty degrees, frosty, with a little bit of ice on the roads. Determined to get some exercise, we made it out to ride some local trails. This was my first chance to really try out my Five Ten Hellcat SPD's; My Hellcats kept me nice and warm while providing BOTH sticky rubber and SPD compatibility. Awesome. Midsoles were stiff and transferred power to the pedals as if I were wearing standard SPD shoes. After an hour out in the cold, we called it good and headed home for some grub, content knowing how cool my new riding shoes are.
I sure know what shoes I'll be riding in this winter! Check out the Hellcat SPD's if your looking for the comfort of a real shoe, stiff midsoles, and SPD compatibility.
