Starting the Season - Zoe Steinberg

October 05, 2011 -  Zoe Steinberg

Summer's over, meaning unfortunately back to school for my sophomore year of high school.  On the good side, it also meant back to climbing. After getting back from a three week trip to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky and SCS youth nationals in Georgia, I rested through the entire month of August because of a stress fracture on my back.  September meant I was able to start training and climbing again to get ready for the fall bouldering season.  I was really psyched to get back to it, especially with a healed up back.  It was a little frustrating the first few days getting back into it, but I managed to take first place at the first local comp of the season at The Gravity Vault in Chatham, NJ in both my age group and out of all the women competing.  I'm really excited about that, and looking forwards to going to a few more comps and some trips outdoors this month, including the Midnight Burn hosted by the PRG, which is easily the best comp of the season.
