Danny MacAskill Dominates Five Ten's Booth on Day 3 of Eurobike

September 02, 2011 -  Five Ten

The Five Ten booth was again dominated today by the trials rider and internet sensation, Danny MacAskill.

It was another rain-soaked morning in Freidrichsaffen.  People huddled inside the Messe, burning what they could from the other booths to keep warm.

But as soon as Danny (or Big D, as he's fondly known as in the place I just made up in my head) arrived, the clouds parted and the crowds swarmed from the cramped confines of halls A6 and A7.  (I don't mean to suggest that in addition to Danny being an artist on the bike that he also posses the power to control the weather.  I'm not suggesting that at all.  I'm saying it out right.  Danny can control the weather and we'd be wise not to anger him.  But I digress…)

Something that we all in the Five Ten booth noticed about Danny is his unyielding devotion to his fans.  As I write this, he is trying to build a new bike he was given by his sponsor.  He's been at it for almost an hour and a half and he hasn't gotten very far because every two seconds someone comes up to him wanting a picture or an autograph.  With the grace that only a professional possess, he graciously and genuinely smiles and engages his fan(s).  He shakes every hand and beams for every picture until every last person has had their turn.  It's something to see; a professional athlete at their best.  One can really tell that Danny respects the fans that help him to achieve the world-wide recognition he now has.

Five Ten is happy to not only offer a signature shoe for Danny, but proud to be a part of the career of true, elite athlete.

Well put. Danny is such a sound chap. He is inspiring a new generation of rider who is all about the fun and expression to be had on a bike.

Respect.
