Five Ten's Ronnie Jenkins and I spent the weekend in Buena Vista, CO at Paddle Fest promoting the new 5.10 Water Tennie. The shoe is a kind of water/approach hybrid designed for canyoneering, paddling and an assortment of water related sports. We arrived on Friday and after checking in at the local shop Colorado Kayak Supply (CKS) we found ourselves with nothing to do. We grabbed some food, checked out the event space, and then passed out in the van.

Saturday was the real event day. Ronnie worked a shoe demo at the newly constructed pump track and I ran another at the river. There really wasn’t a lot to do – turns out Paddle Fest is a pretty small event. But this is the first kayaking event we have ever done and I think it was a good start. It seems that among paddlers, like climbers, 5.10 is known for amazing rubber. The day came to a successful close with CKS selling quite a few of their Water Tennies and good reviews from kayakers. We are heading back to Denver now to do a little climbing!
