Well we made it to the New at around noon and got the booth set up. Reps from other companies were all doing the same and I met several of them. As athletes it’s always fun to meet up with friends and reunite with fellow athletes, but for the reps it’s like a big family reunion. It was spitting rain while we set up the booth and climbers were wandering around aimlessly. Ronnie and I cut out after getting the booth up to fire code to mess around in the bouldering cave at the Junkyard crag. It was wet but we got some climbing in.
Anyway, Ronnie and I are staying at a little cabin called the “Farmhouse” with a few other cats from Petzel and Five Ten. It’s a nice little place and after unloading our gear from the van we headed over to the sponsors party for dinner and conversatin’. When we rolled up people were already digging into an incredible spread; a whole roasted pig, mac and cheese, cole slaw, salad, asparagus, and drinks were spread buffet style around the kitchen. I probably ate too much but I couldn’t help it. We hung out for a bit before heading back to the Farmhouse. I was tired and passed out as soon as I dropped into bed.
