Stacey Weldon Heads Back to School

After a wonderful summer in the beautiful Canadian Rockies, it’s back to the grind at school. One more year, and I will be a real live Nurse.

I grew up 45min from the Canadian Rockies, and my family used to drive out there every darned weekend to climb or ski or hike or camp among the majestic peaks. Going back this summer, I realized that it had been years since I spent any quality time climbing the lovely lime-stone faces the Rockies has to offer. Needless to say I was pretty darned psyched to get a part time student-nursing job in Canmore!!! Plus I got to climb with my brothers and sister. What a treat!

If you haven’t been up to visit the great white north in the summer time, grab your down jacket and come on up for the best summer temps in North America!!

I miss the mountains already as I start back to school on the other side of the country… the flat side.

In a city with no bouldering gym, its a two hour drive to the closest gym for a fix of that sweet, sweet smell of old foot and chalk, or the 8’ by 12’ mini-woodie we set up in our backyard. But enough of that I thought, lets start a co-op. Kingston has an awesome community of climbers who have come together to build a rad gym, which we hope to have open in the next month or two.

But alas… back to the books. Time to learn about cardiovascular diagnostics!
