Guntram Jörg

I was born on 23rd September 1988, in Bregenz and I started climbing in 2006 along with downhill biking and attending a high-level technical school for civil engineering. I soon realized that this wasn’t the lifestyle I wanted. I was locked into a society with its crazy rhythm of everyday life, when people spend most of their time in the office or sitting behind a school desk. If it had been up to me, I would have quit school in order to strictly focus on climbing. However, by the pressure of my family and friends and my internal consciousness, I knew that finishing my degree was the right thing to do. After I finished school, another distraction from my true passion came along. I was on a bouldering trip in South Africa, and I found out that I was summed to join the military. During the next 6 months of being in the military, I realized that I do not have to live the norm of everyday society.
