Growing up in Buffalo, NY, I skied on the local hills ever since I can remember. But, it wasn't until a college PE course that I learned how to whitewater kayak and became instantly addicted. Somehow I managed to graduate amongst the distractions of these new outdoor passions for paddling, hiking, and skiing and have allowed these interests to shape my lifestyle ever since. Although I currently reside in the Pacific Northwest where I have year-round access to paddling, I previously lived a nomadic lifestyle with working stints in Alaska, Colorado, Utah, Maine, and New Zealand. I love traveling and exploring; new countries, new mountains, new rivers. I have spent time in Chile, Africa, Europe, Costa Rica, and all around North America, but my 'To-Go' list grows daily. Whether it be play boating or creaking, overnighters or park-n-hucks, class I or Class V, big water or waterfalls, expeditions or racing, I enjoy all aspects of paddling.
