I was born and raised in what is known as the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, home to Kingdom Trails (KT). KT is one of the most popular mountain biking destinations in eastern North America. I still live here with my wife and our 8 year old son, and I am the owner of a bike park design/construction company. After starting mountain biking in the year 2000, my passion sport quickly made it a driving force in my life. Kingdom Trails was my training grounds and since, at the time they only offered XC, that laid the foundation for my skills. My inclination has always been towards gravity/ freeride mountain biking and during my early riding years I traveled far and wide to find the goods. Winter trips to Bootleg Canyon, Virgin, Utah, Whistler, Santa Cruz, etc. opened my eyes to what was possible and built my skills. These experiences also made me realize my home has the terrain to make it a mecca for all disciplines, all we needed to do was build. I combined this new found knowledge with my skills and tools as a builder to start creating freeride features, gravity trails and a local stoke for progressive elements at home. The trails that I pioneered on Burke Mountain have since become a part of the Kingdom Trails and represent the beginning of down-hilling here. My backyard Jumps have achieved legendary status in the Freeride world after being featured in films such as Kranked 7, NWD9 and Aaron Chase’s “Hold On Loosely” tour. As my skills progressed as a builder, I gained more and more recognition. People started asking me to build jumps and courses for them, mostly for free at first but in 2010 I became the official designer for all gravity and freeride elements on Kingdom Trails. The only thing I love building and riding but even better than that is seeing the joy my trails bring to others.
Being on the 5 10 team is a dream come true for me, My first pair was the Marzocchi Ninjas and from my very first experience riding with the stealth rubber glueing my feet to the pedals I was sold. I've ridden with the Impacts since then, I love the stickiness and stiffness combined with just the right amount of padding and I look forward to trying some of the many other models now that I'm on the team.
