My love for extreme sports started the day I slide down the stairs in a laundry basket. It was a hard crash at the bottom, but I always ran back up to the top for more. Sooner than later, my love for breaking laundry baskets transformed into a love for waterfalls and rapids. It was a slow progression, as I challenged myself with ski racing, mountain biking, and various other sports. Along the way, I spent numerous years as a kayak instructor working with various youth programs in their effort to introduce more ‘groms’ to the sport. Now, I am 25 years old, and a professional whitewater kayaker with a focus on both the creeking and playboating aspects of the sport. In addition, I am an avid creek and downriver racer, as well as a fan of the occasional freestyle rodeo.
