As a teenager in 1994, Bernd started climbing. The first years he was more an Alpine climber, doing the „big walls“ in the alps. When he was 16, he did the „Via Bonatti at the Grand Capucin“ ( Mt. Blanc; France),and was probaly the youngest person on top of this mountain at that time. Within a few years he was one of the strongest Austrian Climbers. At his first competion in 1998 he placed second and outside, on the real rock, he climbed his first routes in the grade 8c. In 1999 Bernd found his true passion. BOULDERING. He was one of those guys, who spent days brushing, and developing areas like Magic Wood, Silvapark Silvretta and Ticino. In the last couple of years, he was traveling around the world, exploring new areas. In South America, South Africa and India.
